3A Your Entrepreneurship Story

In high school I used to intern at this office my mom managed to make some spending money. During my time there, the owner of the company would give me books to read and taught me a few things about being an entrepreneur. He had started this company to process the titles for cars moving to a new state. For example if you live in Florida and you buy a car from Georgia this company does the processing to title the car in Florida. While I was working there he was also in the beginnings of starting his new designer kitchen company. What I learned was that this guy was successful because he was always looking for those opportunities to be an entrepreneur.

I enrolled in ENT3003 to fill a 3000 level elective requirement to graduate. I've heard a lot about this class from friends and I think it will definitely be interesting and I'm enjoying it so far. I don't know if I'll really use much of it as i don't plan on starting my own business and would much rather work in corporate finance.

  1. Connor,

I found your internship experience pretty interesting. It's always cool to see entrepreneurship first hand. I also respect you honesty, taking this class to graduate (me too) and wanting to work in a corporate culture when you graduate. I think the corporate culture definitely gets more hate than it needs to. I would really love to be my own boss one day, though.

  2. Connor,
I think the owner of that company is a true entrepreneur; he is consistently looking for opportunities and unsatisfied needs in life. However, I think you are very honest about why you enrolled in this course. I realize that not everyone could be their own boss and not everybody wants to take the risk for it. I respect that you would like to work in corporate finance in the future.
